The outsiders

Rating (1-5): 5

Genre: Drama

Review: An amazing book by S.E Hinton. The story is about a 14 year old boy who is growing up in the early 60s. Ponyboy Curtis is a "Greaser", the name for the lower class people who live on the west side of town. He lost his parents and he and his 16 year old brother, Sodapop, are raised by their 21 Year old brother Darrel. Pony belongs to a small gang, which contains his brothers and very close friends. Greasers can't count on much, but they can definitely count on trouble from the Socs, the rich kids from the East side. One day, a skirmish turns into big trouble, and Pony and his friend Johnny find themselves running from the cops. This is an incredible story about family and friendship. I love this book because it portrays reality. I must warn you, if you're the type who want's everything to end "Happily ever after", you probably shouldn't read this book. I would recommend this for any person who wan'ts to read a realistic story. It is also perfect for anybody who loves a page turning drama.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Rating (Out of 5): 5

Genre: Crime, Drama, Mystery

Review: Scout Finch is a 6 year old girl living in segregated Maycomb, Alabama. She and her brother, Jem, are the children of Atticus Finch, a lawyer. Scout and Jem lead fairly normal lives, having adventures with their neighbor Dil Harris. They have all sorts of adventures, from getting into fights to sneaking into the yard of their reclusive neighbor, Arthur "Boo" Radley. Then their whole view on life changes when Atticus agrees to defend a black man, Tom Robinson, in court. This is a moving story about growing up and facing life. It's a very inspirational book. My only criticism is that the first part is a little boring, otherwise it's an amazing novel. There is a lot of hidden meaning, so if this is a school mandated book, I would suggest checking out Sparknotes after every chapter.

Miss Match by Wendy Toliver

Rating (out of 5): 4

Genre: Romantic Comedies

Review: Girls will love this book! Sixteen year old Sasha Finnegan needed a job. Being an "expert" in relationships, she starts her own online dating site, where she helps high school crushes find something more. Months go by until she faces her first real challenge. The cute new guy, Derek Urban, asks her to set him up with none other than Maddie, Sasha's super hot sister. As she works with him, Sasha can't help but notice how amazing he is. In fact he would be perfect. Perfect for a certain Miss Match :). This is a cute, quirky story, that is perfect for any one who loves a sweet romance. The only issue I have is that the ending is a little predictable. I would consider this mind candy, light and easy pleasurable reading.

The Fetch: a supernatural romance by Laura Whitcomb

Rating (out of 5): 5

Genre: Fiction

Review: When I first looked at this book, I had a horrible flashback to my days as a twihard. Once I started reading however I had to admit, though similar to twilight, this book was much easier to get engrossed in. It tells the story of Calder, a young Fetch, who died at age 19 and has been dead for almost 400 years, Ana, the spunky and bold daughter of the Tsar of Russia, and Alexis, her brother, heir to the throne. A Fetch is an escort for dead souls, so that they can find their way to heaven. This is a story of this Young Fetch's misadventures on earth, in the borrowed body of one of his souls, and his relationship with the two children of Tsar. Like I said, this book is similar to twilight, but not by much, as I feel it is a much better written piece of literature. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mix of romance and adventure. A little more intense, and a slightly bigger book, so I would suggest this to a person who can spend a while reading it.
